The Project
In Patagonia, Wildlife Friendly is contributing to the Regenerative Fund for Nature project in partnership with WCS Argentina, which leads field implementation across the landscape. Together, the partnership is supporting regenerative livestock management, improved grazing practices, human–wildlife coexistence measures such as predator-deterrence systems, and innovative incentive structures that align conservation, carbon outcomes and market demand. Across more than 300,000 hectares, the project highlights how complementary expertise, from conservation science to independent certification and innovative markets, can strengthen nature-positive fiber production while supporting biodiversity conservation.

Outcomes
Our Interventions
Project interventions encourage the adoption of Regenerative + Wildlife Friendly management practices, protecting key species like guanaco, puma, Darwin's rhea, and Patagonian mara. These interventions include:

Studying vegetation in order to identify the state of the natural pastures that make up livestock farms and to provide sustainable, regenerative management recommendations to producers.

Evaluating and monitoring receptivity, soil condition, pastures, and productive systems to provide recommendations that lead to improved soil and plant community capacities, increased receptivity, and promote sustainable productive systems that coexist with wildlife.

Soil carbon estimation, supporting the incorporation of producers into the carbon market is an opportunity to enhance the scope and results of Regenerative + Wildlife Friendly practices.

Monitoring of wildlife to assess natural variations and the effectiveness of coexistence measures, we study changes in wildlife abundance.

Providing guidance on the implementation of Wildlife Friendly predator management practices, including the use of guardian dogs for livestock.

Acting as a bridge between producers and the textile industry, promoting the use of natural fibers through Regenerative + Wildlife Friendly management, and working to improve fiber prices, valuing the efforts made by producers in pursuit of coexistence and regeneration of the environment.

These multi-year efforts, spanning fiber commercialization, enterprise development, and producer capacity building, are laying the groundwork for scalable, biodiversity-positive supply chains.
