In Patagonia, Wildlife Friendly® in collaboration with WCS Argentina is working with ranchers and herders to transform wool production into a nature-positive and Wildlife Friendly® practice. Through the Certified Wildlife Friendly® program, we ensure that wool is sourced in ways that protect iconic species like pumas, guanacos, and Andean condors, while also supporting local livelihoods. This project has established a Certified Wildlife Friendly® wool supply chain, providing fashion brands with a responsible sourcing option that meets high ethical and environmental standards. Key conservation measures include non-lethal predator management, regenerative grazing techniques, and ecosystem restoration.
Madagascar
Madagascar is home to 5% of the world’s species, yet rampant deforestation threatens its unique biodiversity. Tanana Madagascar proves that textiles can drive conservation while empowering local communities. Tanana Silk, produced by CPALI & SEPALI Madagascar, is Wildlife Friendly® Certified, supporting local livelihoods while protecting Madagascar’s Makira Protected Area. By cultivating native silkworms and weaving non-spun wild silk, farmers reduce deforestation and conserve critical habitats.
