Conservation Challenges Faced by this Species:

Chhindwara, India

Tigers in India are under great threat largely due to poaching. The demand for tiger body parts across Asia is high, driving hunting and illegal wildlife trade. Habitat loss and fragmentation limit the ability of tiger populations to recover and expose more regions to poachers. Low number of wild prey drives hunting of livestock which causes increased human-wildlife conflict and retaliatory killing.
