Conservation Challenges Faced by this Species:
Antioquia, Colombia
Although they are currently not vulnerable and believed to be highly adaptable to disturbed forest, rapid declines in habitat alongside hunting and other pressures from human activities are leading to decreasing populations. Illegal wildlife trafficking and pet trade are also a threat to the species. Due to climate change, increasingly severe dry seasons have caused increased cases of starvation and predation, as well as disease spread, such as Dengue, further reducing numbers.
