The Gorilla Friendly® Pledge

The Project
The Gorilla Friendly® Pledge campaign began through a collaboration between the International Gorilla Conservation Programme (IGCP) – a coalition of Conservation International, Fauna & Flora International and WWF – and Wildlife Friendly®, in an attempt to raise awareness of established gorilla visitation rules. These regulations are in place to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for visitors. They also aim to reduce the risk of disease transmission to the gorillas, as well as minimizing their potential behavior change from frequent visitation. The Pledge is part of the larger Certified Gorilla Friendly® programs for Park Edge Community Products and Tourism, also presided over by Wildlife Friendly®.
